Not just a workshop...a retreat

Wow!! I can't believe that tickets are halfway sold out within the first two days of releasing the 2021 Retreat Tickets!! Hurry and grab your ticket while they're still available. In 2019, after attending one of the largest photography conferences for Wedding and Portrait photographers (WPPI) I had an epiphany that there were no workshops for the Equine Photography industry. I had a vision to create a workshop that not only helped grow your business and photography skills but have a fun, intimate, and exciting learning atmosphere. I wanted to bring the equine photography community closer together, connect with others, and lift up our industry as a whole. I love the community that was created during the 2020 Retreat, this past March. I'm so excited to see so many familiar faces returning next year for EPR 2021 March 15-18.

Planning

Once the vision was out there, I had another incredibly talented photographer, Aubray, of Copper Arrow Photography reach out to assist and the planning took off from there. I could not have done it without her! She is an amazing addition and partner to EPR. We could not believe that within 24 hours of launching the 2020 Equine Photography Retreat announcement, tickets sold out. We worked tirelessly to prepare housing arrangements, classes, sponsors, session logistics, food preparation, and so much more! Planning a retreat with 30 attendees and 10 Speakers as personalized as this was no small feat. We are so excited to have Shelly Williams a past speaker of 2020 joining the EPR team as one of the committee members.

#BestWeekEver

After all the organizing and planning, the week was finally here! That first night, when I arrived at the beautiful mansion, I was greeted with a house filled with the kindest people. Although we were strangers to each other, I felt an instant bond with these ladies, due to our love for Equine Photography. Something that only us horse people can understand. I was fan girling a little because I was super excited to meet so many photographers that I look up to in the industry.

I can't express how amazing it was to be apart of building this community. A small and intimate retreat allowed for not only learning and collaborating through photography skills and business growth, but building friendships with the most incredibly down to earth and fun people.

Behind the Scenes

From classes, hands on learning, and styled shoots, there is so much to be said about making the most out of this experience. It was the perfect opportunity for attendees to soak in the knowledge learned during the day and also apply it hands-on during evening sessions. Getting to ask questions, receive feedback, and shoot with the most amazing models, horses, and locations was incredible.

After an action packed few days of learning, we relaxed around the table with a group dinner at City Cellar. Everyone was laughing and truly enjoyed themselves. It was the absolute perfect ending to the retreat.
